The key element of the PBEM gaming we provide is fair competition against real players from all over the world on a turn 2 turn nature. The games are played by turns to give all players the same edge. You won't see players getting an edge because of bandwith, better hardware or being constantly online .

The advantage is that a large group can join in the game without playing at the same moment. You can choose to play when you like as long as you play between deadlines.

A more generic explanation of PB(E)M

A Play-By-Mail game can be like either a Role-Playing Game, or a Wargame or both, but is played by mail or email rather than by conference. These games are usually refereed by a computer. Players email their orders/turnsheets (forms which efficiently detail all the moves that a player will execute during his or her turn) to the computer. The computer tallies all the turnsheets on a specified time (players must submit their turnsheets by the specified day and time or forfeit their turn). Each players' turn is then processed, the effect of the players' actions on the scenario is assessed and each player then receives an result turnsheet. The process repeats until the game is ended (victory conditions vary from game to game). These games offer great flexibility for the players (when one cannot find time to meet with one's friends to engage in a 'normal' Role-Playing Game or Wargame, being able to play by mail or email is a wonderful thing) . Players often contact one another outside the game itself to plot, make alliances and treaties, and generally socialize. If you've never tried a Play-By-Mail Game, consider doing so, it is a marvelous pasttime!

The time between turns will often be spend on diplomacy and player interaction.
