What features does Gondor have?

What great graphics does gondor have?
Sorry wrong question, Gondor is not about great graphics! Gondor is all about gameplay and player interactivity. If you can't live without great graphics you might have to look for another game or change your wallpaper ;)

Is Gondor a real time strategy kind of game?
No Gondor is a turn based strategy game. Some might not expect but Turn Based games can be fun! You will really need the time inbetween turns for planning and diplomacy!

What about Magic?
As for now Magic is not implemented in the way that you can cast spells. But you do receive scrolls from your deity. All magicly active races (with a high magic bonus) are compensated in the way that they will receive more and better scrolls.

When will trade be implemented?
We once had trade but we took it out. Trade does take extra time when making your orders and does not add much fun. Trade is hard to balance. This game is more about strategy and diplomacy. You get your resources by owning settlements which automatically raise tax. You can use Build production order to invest gold to raise more tax.
Two other ways to get gold: scout for treasure and pick it up. Hunt monsters. If you kill a wandering monster you will get it's treasure!

What about spies?
You can only spy on monsters. Maybe we will implement some more spy orders. The fact that you do not know how well a settlement is guarded with garrisons and troops is part of the game.

What about artifacts?
Those are still on the wish todo list. Treasures are implemented but they will only add to your gold.

What about the map making thing?
Gondor automatically generates a map based on what your armies see and what your fellow devoted religious members see.

You can also share your map (layout of the land, not the locations of armies and settlements) with other players with the share map order. Discovering the layout of the land and placement of different players is part of the first few turns of the game. Finding out your placement on the map is key to survival by teaming up with the right religion and picking the right targets for war.

You can also download xml results from the download section and use these with the GondorMapMaking tool from Tholmir (also in the download section). This is a windows application that features different ways to look at the map which might be useful tool for your strategical planning.

We're constantly developing Gondor. The latest news on new or altered features is always told on the forum. Important changes in rules and important new features are also on the forum and are also listed at the bottom of game results.
